SOVRA AI Advisor Privacy Notice
This notice explains the data handling of the SOVRA AI Advisor chat feature. It supplements the privacy information of the website where the advisor appears.
Information processed
- Your message and up to the eight most recent messages in the current chat session.
- Page context such as the site name, language, page title, description, headings, and safe navigation links.
- A limited public-page excerpt only on websites that explicitly enable public context. Authenticated apps should use metadata-only mode.
- Technical request data, including origin and IP-derived rate-limit information, for access control, abuse prevention, and service reliability.
- The website-selected language, browser language, and a coarse IP-derived country code may be used for localization. The language selected on the website takes priority. Raw IP addresses are not sent to the browser widget or included in the AI prompt for localization.
How the information is used
The information is used to answer questions about the current website, explain products and ecosystem services, guide navigation, enforce safety rules, and direct account-specific matters to human support.
AI service provider
Messages and the limited page context are sent through a server-side API to OpenAI to generate the response. The browser never receives the server API key. Model requests are configured not to create application conversation storage, but infrastructure and service providers may process technical and security data under their applicable terms and policies.
Local storage and persistence
The widget keeps the active transcript in browser memory only and does not write chat content to cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage. Reloading or closing the page clears that browser-memory transcript. If you choose to use personalization controls, the widget may store non-chat preferences such as voice/motion settings and your optional preferred display name in localStorage on that device; these can be changed or cleared from the widget. If you explicitly enable Learn mode, the widget may also store a bounded device-local learning profile containing language preference, accent/voice-locale preference, and pronunciation corrections you explicitly teach it. Learn mode does not store the full chat transcript and turning Learn off clears that local learning profile. The reference server implementation does not deliberately save chat content to an application database.
Adaptive learning
SOVRA's public guide uses controlled adaptive learning rather than unrestricted self-modification. Visitor-taught language, accent, and pronunciation preferences are applied only when Learn mode is enabled. Conversations do not directly rewrite executable code, safety rules, legal controls, or model configuration. Product-wide capability changes remain versioned, tested, and reviewable.
Your choices
Using the advisor is optional. You may close it at any time and use the website's official contact channel instead. Avoid including personal information that is not necessary for your question.
Accuracy and sensitive decisions
AI-generated answers may be incomplete or incorrect. Do not rely on the advisor for transactions or individualized legal, medical, tax, investment, or financial decisions. Contact human support for account, payment, compliance, incident, or contractual matters.
Questions and requests
For privacy questions or requests concerning the advisor, use the official SOVRA contact page and identify the subject as “SOVRA AI Advisor privacy.”
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated when the advisor, its providers, or its data handling changes. The effective date above will be revised when a material update is published.
